Trade Deficit is a trio of sculptures situated along Broadway at Lawrence, Larimer and Blake, the most significant of which is located at Blake. The sculptures are intended to create a literal and conceptual gateway for the industrial/residential neighborhood of River North, activating a main route into downtown Denver from the airport and beyond. As an artist who lives and works in the RiNo (River North) neighborhood of Denver, Riché re-purposed unused shipping containers to create this series of sculptures that capture the vibrant transportation history of that neighborhood.

Installed September 2009, the colorful, bold artworks symbolize RiNo’s bright future by tapping into Denver’s commerce and culture connection. Riché was selected for this public art commission by a panel of community members, artists and arts representatives.
